The Air Conditioning (A/C) Control can perform two tasks. Air Conditioning Control can be used to assist in turning off the A/C compressor when under high loads. This allows more power to be used to drive the wheels. The A/C Control output can also be used to trigger increased idle speed to accommodate the extra load from the compressor. The Air Conditioning Control requires input from the A/C request switch and an output to the A/C compressor which can be setup via the wiring tab within the function.

Select from either a digital switched input, or vehicle CAN input.
Enabling allows the Haltech to control the compressor directly.
Only digital output mode is selectable.
Select an appropriate input to use for the A/C Request Switch. An SPI or an AVI (Analogue Voltage Input) can be used.
An SPI (Synchronised Pulsed Input) requires configuring of the edge and the type of Sensor to be connected.
Falling is used when the input is grounded when the switch is activated. Rising is used when the input is supplied voltage when the switch is activated.
Set to Hall Effect for all switch inputs
Enables a pull up if required to generate a voltage when the switch is off.
An AVI will require Switch On and Switch Off voltages to be configured so the Elite ECU can know which voltages on the AVI meet the conditions required.
The voltage either above or below where the switch is considered to be ON. When selecting an appropriate value some consideration should be given to allow for voltage fluctuations.
The voltage either above or below where the switch is considered to be OFF. When selecting an appropriate value some consideration should be given to allow for voltage fluctuations. Eg. if the switch is at 5V when it is Off and is grounded to 0V when the switch is On, you would set the On voltage to 1.0V and the Off Voltage to 4.0V.
The switch is at 5V when it is Off and is grounded to 0V when the switch is On. Correct settings with tolerance would be to set On voltage to 0.5V and the Off Voltage to 4.5V. i.e. when the voltage falls below 0.5V it is considered to be ON, and when it rises back above 4.5V it is considered to be OFF.
The switch is at 2.5V when it is OFF, and is at 12V when it is ON. Correct settings with tolerance would be to set On Voltage to 4.5V and the Off Voltage to 3.0V. i.e. when the voltage rises above 4.5V it is considered to be ON, and when it falls back below 3.0V it is considered to be OFF.
Select an available output wire, typically a DPO (Digital Pulsed Output) or Stepper Output that will be connected for the A/C Output.
Controls the whether the output is normal or inverted. Low will ground the output wire when the output is set to be On. Setting to High will invert this signal, with the output wire being grounded when the output is set to be Off, and not grounded when it is set to be On. (Default = Low)
In order to prevent the A/C compressor from making rapid transitions with rapid changes in throttle, the minimum time interval between on and off transitions can be specified here. (Default = 5 s)
The A/C output is disabled until the engine running time exceeds this value. Setting to 0 will let the output turn on immediately. Typical values will allow enough time for the idle to stabilise after the engine first starts. (Default = 5 s)
A/C output is disabled when the engine speed exceeds this RPM. This is to prevent over revving the air con compressor on some high performance engines. (Default = 4500 rpm)
A/C output is disabled when TPS is above this value. This removes the air conditioning compressor load from the engine under high driver demand.
Only available when an A/C Temperature Sensor is enabled. The A/C output is disabled when the A/C Temperature Sensor reads below this value.
Only available when an A/C Temperature Sensor is enabled. The A/C Temperature must rise this amount above the Min Temp to re-engage the compressor output.
Only available when an A/C Pressure Sensor is enabled.
The A/C output is disabled when the A/C Pressure Sensor reads below this value.
The A/C Pressure must rise this amount above the Min Pressure to re-engage the compressor output. This is to prevent oscillation.
Only available when an A/C Pressure Sensor is enabled. The A/C Pressure must drop by this amount below the Min Pressure to re-engage the compressor output. This is to prevent oscillation.
Increases the idle target RPM when engaging the A/C compressor.
Increases the idle base duty when engaging the A/C compressor.
This setting is to allow adequate time for the Idle Control to increase the Target Idle RPM and Base Duty in anticipation of the additional load caused by engaging the A/C clutch. After this time has passed the compressor output is then engaged. Typically around 0.5 seconds.
This setting is to allow time for the Idle Control to drop to the Target Idle RPM after the A/C is turned off. The Idle Target and Base offsets will disable first, and then after this amount of time the compressor output will turn off.
Enables a pulsed output with a set on/off time. If this setting is disabled the output will not be pulsed.
The time duration (ms) for which the pulsed output will be active. (Default = 3000 ms)
The time duration (ms) for which the pulsed output will be deactivated. (Default = 1000 ms)
