Brake Pressure Front / Rear

Brake Pressure Front / Rear

Brake Pressure Front / Rear Sensor

A Brake Pressure Sensor can be used with your ECU for datalogging and for electrical control. A Brake Pressure Sensor is a powered sensor that typically has three wires; a 5V+ power wire, a signal wire to the ECU, and a Signal Ground.

The main node is used to calibrate the thresholds for the generated Braking channels, as well as configuring the sensor scaling if the Brake Pressure Sensor is wired to an analog input.

Switch

Switch Threshold - Sets the pressure threshold that the Brake Pressure Front/Rear Switch State channel will change to 'On'.
Hard Braking Threshold - Sets the pressure threshold that is considered Hard Braking. This threshold is used for electrical control such as flashing brake lights or hazards in emergencies.
Hysteresis - Sets the hysteresis around the switching thresholds to prevent rapid changes in the channel state. Eg, if the Hysteresis is set to 100kPa, and the Switch Threshold is set to 1000kPa, the brake switch will remain in the enabled state until the pressure drops below 900kPa.

Calibration

On this node, the Brake Pressure sensor calibration can be loaded or entered manually. If you have purchased a Brake Pressure sensor from Haltech, calibrations can be loaded directly into the calibration table by using the 'Load from File' button. Calibrations can be saved to file by using the 'Save to File' button.

Display

This node sets the display settings for the Brake Pressure Front/Rear channel.
Warning Minimum - Sets the pressure at which the Brake Pressure sensor Number Displays, Gauges and Bars will enter their lower warning state.
Warning Maximum - Sets the pressure at which the Brake Pressure sensor Number Displays, Gauges and Bars will enter their upper warning state.

Diagnostics

This node allows the enabling of high and low voltage DTCs for the Brake Pressure sensor.

A DTC severity can be set for each voltage, which will trigger an Engine Protection level for the relevant setting.

Wiring

This node allows you to assign the input for the Brake Pressure sensor.

Input Type - selects between Analogue - Voltage or CAN Input types. Choose CAN Input only if you're wiring the ECU into a compatible vehicle that broadcasts Brake Pressure on the Vehicle CAN. Most common installations will use the Analogue - Voltage input type.

Brake Pressure Sensors use an Analog Input. Any available AVI can be used. Is is recommended to Disable the Pull Up.
