Check Engine Light will show only illuminate when Diagnostic Trouble Codes are presented on the current engine run cycle

Current and past DTCs

Check Engine Light will illuminate when Diagnostic Trouble Codes are detected on the current engine run cycle and remain illuminated if DTCs are stored.
