Coolant Temperature Sensor

Coolant Temperature Sensor

A Coolant Temperature Sensor can be used with your ECU for datalogging and for Engine Protection purposes. The Coolant Temperature sensor value is used for all temperature based corrections in the ECU such as warm-up enrichment, fuel corrections, temperature based RPM limiters, protections etc. This value also feeds into the Calculated Air Temp table. Temperature sensors are typically two wire sensors; a signal wire that is connected to an AVI, and a signal ground wire.

Coolant Temperature Sensor Configuration

On this node, the Coolant Temp sensor calibration can be loaded or entered manually. If you have purchased a Coolant Temp sensor from Haltech, calibrations can be loaded directly into the calibration table by using the 'Load from File' button. Calibrations can be saved to file by using the 'Save to File' button.

Display

This node sets the display settings for the Coolant Temperature channel.
Warning Maximum - Sets the pressure at which the Coolant Temperature sensor Number Displays, Gauges and Bars will enter their lower warning state.
Warning Maximum - Sets the pressure at which the Coolant Temperature sensor Number Displays, Gauges and Bars will enter their upper warning state.

Diagnostics

This node allows the enabling of high and low voltage DTCs as well as Maximum temperature DTCs for the Coolant Temperature sensor.
A DTC severity can be set for each voltage and temperature, which will trigger an Engine Protection level for the relevant setting.

Wiring

This node allows you to assign the input for the Coolant Temperature sensor.
Coolant Temperature Sensors use an Analog Input. Any available AVI can be used.
It is recommended to enable the Pull Up. This connects a 1kOhm internal resistor between the signal input and 5v.
