The Diff Oil Sensor is used to determine the temperature in the Differential.

Select the type of Diff Oil Temperature Sensor to be connected.
Selected when the supplied calibration data for the sensor is in voltage. This will require an Analogue Voltage Input (AVI) to be used and configured.
Selected when the supplied calibration data for the sensor is in resistance. This will require an Analogue Voltage Input (AVI) to be used and configured.
Selected when a thermocouple input is to be used. Typically with a Haltech Thermo Couple Adapter (TCA2 or TCA4).
Select an appropriate input to use for the Diff Oil Temp Sensor. An AVI (Analogue Voltage Input) or SPI (Synchronised Pulsed Input) should be used when Analogue Voltage is set as the Input Type. When a Haltech CAN TCA2 or TCA4 box is to be used, this device must be enabled in the Devices section of the Main Setup and the desired TCA Input should then be selected.
An AVI (Analogue Voltage Input) is suggested.
Enables a 1k pull up resistor to 5V.
Typically the pull up should be enabled with any two-wire temperature sensor, and disabled for sensors with their own voltage supply. If the sensor is being shared with another ECU, such as with a piggyback installation with an OEM ECU, then the other ECU will generally include a necessary pull up and this setting should be set to Disabled.
An SPI (Synchronised Pulsed Input) can be used where there are no available AVIs.
Set to Hall Effect for all analogue inputs
Enables a weak 10k pull up resistor to 5V.
Please note pre installed temperature sensor calibrations will require adjustment if used with an SPI.
Available only when the Input Type is set to Analogue Voltage or Analogue Resistance. This allows calibrations for an Oil Temperature Sensor to be loaded or saved. A number of calibrations come pre-installed with the ESP Software package. If your sensor is not listed, a custom calibration can be created with the data provided by the sensor manufacturer. The default calibration will be for the Haltech 150ºC Oil Temperature Sensor.
From the image above:
1 – Selecting this yellow Open icon on the top left will allow the loading of a pre-configured calibration file.
2 – Selecting this blue Disk icon next to the open icon will allow the saving of your custom calibration file.
When the Diff Oil Temp Sensor reads below this amount, any Diff Oil temperature items on the ESP software will flash Red as a warning of low Diff Oil temperature.
When the Diff Oil Temp Sensor reads above this amount, any Diff Oil temperature items on the ESP software will flash Red as a warning of high Diff Oil temperature.
The settings in this tab allow limits to be set for the detection of either fault conditions, or conditions that could be considered to cause engine damage related to the Diff Oil Temp Sensor.
Available only when the Input Type is set to Analogue Voltage. When enabled, this allows for the error code P1900 to be set when the voltage is below the set amount. This is used to detect a short or disconnection with the wiring. If the Engine Protection function is active a DTC Severity level can be selected for this condition if desired. (Default = Disabled)
Available only when the Input Type is set to Analogue Voltage. When enabled, this allows for the error code P1901 to be set when the voltage is above the set amount. This is used to detect a short or disconnection with the wiring. If the Engine Protection function is active a DTC Severity level can be selected for this condition if desired. (Default = Disabled)
