Dual Intake Runner

Dual Intake Runner

The Dual Intake Runner (DIR) function provides support for intake manifolds with a switchable intake length. Most DIR systems will operate over an Engine RPM band, turning on at a certain RPM and off again at a higher RPM. This function can be used for other purposes if a simple On/Off function is required with Engine RPM.

Connections

DIR Output

Select an available output wire, typically a DPO (Digital Pulsed Output) that will be connected to the Dual Intake Runner control solenoid.

Active State

Controls whether the output to the solenoid is normal or inverted. Low will ground the output wire when the output is set to be On. Setting to High will invert this signal, with the output wire being grounded when the output is set to be Off, and not grounded when it is set to be On. (Default = Low)

Settings

RPM Hysteresis

This Hysteresis is applied when passing a threshold value with decreasing RPM to prevent repetitive switching between on and off states.

Switching Points

Off RPM Condition

Dual Intake runners can be set up so that there is only an on condition, meaning above a certain RPM, the solenoid will activate and remain active until the RPM dips below the On RPM. The Off RPM Condition should be disabled if this is the case.

Enabling the Off RPM Condition allows for the Dual Intake Runner system to be disabled again above a set RPM amount. (Default = Disabled)

Min Load

The amount of Load to be used for the Min Load On RPM and the Min Load Off RPM. All load less than this value will directly use this RPM amount.

Max Load

The amount of Load to be used for the Max Load On RPM and the Max Load Off RPM. All load greater than this value will directly use this RPM amount.

Min Load Off RPM

Only active when the Off RPM condition has been enabled. This is the RPM above which the Dual Intake Runner output will be Disabled when the load is less than the Min Load. When the load is between the Min Load Off and the Max Load Off the RPM value will be interpolated between the Min Load Off RPM and the Max Load Off RPM.

Max Load Off RPM

Only active when the Off RPM condition has been enabled. This is the RPM above which the Dual Intake Runner output will be Disabled when the load is greater than the Max Load. When the load is between the Min Load Off and the Max Load Off the RPM value will be interpolated between the Min Load Off RPM and the Max Load Off RPM.

Min Load On RPM

This is the RPM above which the Dual Intake Runner output will be Enabled when the load is less than the Min Load. When the load is between the Min Load On and the Max Load On the RPM value will be interpolated between the Min Load On RPM and the Max Load On RPM.

Max Load On RPM

This is the RPM above which the Dual Intake Runner output will be Enabled when the load is greater than the Max Load. When the load is between the Min Load On and the Max Load On the RPM value will be interpolated between the Min Load On RPM and the Max Load On RPM.
