A Gearbox Oil Temperature Sensor can be used with your Elite ECU for datalogging and for Engine Protection purposes. Temperature sensors are typically two wire sensors; a signal wire that is connected to an AVI, and a signal ground wire.

Select the type of Gearbox Oil Temperature Sensor to be connected.
Selected when the supplied calibration data for the sensor is in voltage. This will require an Analogue Voltage Input (AVI) to be used and configured.
Selected when the supplied calibration data for the sensor is in resistance. This will require an Analogue Voltage Input (AVI) to be used and configured.
Selected when a thermocouple input is to be used. Typically with a Haltech Thermo Couple Adapter (TCA2 or TCA4).
Select when the input is via the vehicle CAN
Select an appropriate input to use for the Gearbox Oil Temperature Sensor. An AVI (Analogue Voltage Input) should be used.
Typically the Pull Up should be Enabled with any analogue temperature sensor. If the sensor is being shared with another ECU, such as with a piggyback installation with an OEM ECU, then the other ECU will typically already have a Pull Up on board and this setting should be set to Disabled.
Available only when the Input Type is set to Analogue Voltage or Analogue Resistance. This allows calibrations for a Gearbox Oil Temperature Sensor to be loaded or saved. A number of calibrations come pre-installed with the ESP Software package. If your sensor is not listed, a custom calibration can be created with the data provided by the sensor manufacturer. The default calibration will be for the Haltech 150C Oil Temperature Sensor.
From the image below:
*1 – Selecting this yellow Open icon will allow the loading of a pre-configured calibration file.
*2 – Selecting this blue Disk icon will allow the saving of your custom calibration file.
When the Gearbox Oil Temperature reads below this amount, any gearbox oil temperature items on the ESP software will flash Red as a warning of low gearbox oil temperature.
When the Gearbox Oil Temperature reads above this amount, any gearbox oil temperature items on the ESP software will flash Red as a warning of high gearbox oil temperature.
The settings in this tab allow limits to the set for the detection of either fault conditions, or conditions that could be considered to cause engine damage related to the Gearbox Oil Temperature Sensor.
When enabled, this allows for the error code P0712 to be set when the voltage is below the set amount. This is used to detect a short or disconnection with the wiring. If the Engine Protection function is active a DTC Severity level can be selected for this condition if desired. (Default = Disabled)
When enabled, this allows for the error code P0713 to be set when the voltage is above the set amount. This is used to detect a short or disconnection with the wiring. If the Engine Protection function is active a DTC Severity level can be selected for this condition if desired. (Default = Disabled)
