Generic Sensors

Generic Sensors

The Generic Sensor function allows a custom sensor or input to be configured with the Elite ECU, where that sensor type is not directly listed in the system.

Wiring Tab

Options

Name

Enter a name that is to be used for the Generic Sensor. This name will be used when searching for channels throughout the system.

Select the type of sensor that is being connected.

Switch

Select when a simple On/Off input is being connected.

Voltage

Select when a voltage is desired as the input.

Pressure

Select when a Pressure Sensor is being connect.

Temperature

Select when a Temperature Sensor is being connected.

Percentage

Select when a Percentage Input is being connected.

ECU Input Type

Digital Switched

Select when the input is either on or off.

Analogue Voltage

Select when the input is a varying 0 to 5V signal.

Analogue Resistance

Digital Frequency

Select when the input is a variable frequency.

Digital Duty Cycle

Select when the input is a variable duty.

Digital Period

Select when the input is a variable pulse width signal.

Digital Active Time

Select the input is to be based on time.

Onboard Pressure Sensor

Select when the on board pressure sensor is to be used for an unlisted purpose.

Thermocouple Type K

Select when a Haltech TCA unit is connected and a Thermocouple is to be used for an unlisted pupose.

Connections

Select an appropriate input based on the type of Generic Sensor being connected.

AVI

Can be used for variable voltage or resistance inputs, and switched inputs.

SPI

Can be used for variable voltage or resistance inputs, switched inputs, and frequency or timed inputs.

Calibration Tab

This allows calibrations for a Generic Sensor to be created, loaded or saved. A number of calibrations come pre-installed with the ESP Software package. If your sensor is not listed, a custom calibration can be created with the data provided by the sensor manufacturer.
