Haltech 8HP control using TurboLamik



TurboLamik is a full standalone TCM that replaces the internal one and gives you 100% control over the solenoids inside the 8HP with no OEM programming / limits still present.

This does requires removing the internal TCM from the valve body in the transmission, and soldering in a new board that lets the TurboLamik TCU work, which can be out of the skill set of some people.

Once you have that part done the rest of the install is pretty simple. The TCM kit comes with a PnP harness that just needs power, ground, brake signal, and paddle signals. 
One thing I recommend here that is a bit different than the TurboLamik instructions is to split the paddle wire(s) and run them to the Haltech as well as the Lamik, so both devices get the up and down shift signals at the exact same time. 
I have found this to be a better option than sending the cut and blip signals over CAN from the TurboLamik to the Haltech. 

You can pick from a pretty thorough list of data to get back into the Haltech as well for data logging and tuning purposes. This uses the IO box hack where the data comes in over CAN as a IO box, but you can also use the GCAN to program it all custom if that is more your style. 
Using the IO box(s) method you can get 8 channels into the Haltech, with GCAN you can get all of them.

The TurboLamik does offer very solid base maps as well for the common 8HP's out there, and once those are loaded and the setting below are adjusted in the TunerPro software, you will be up and running.
