Options

Paddle Shift Option - Select which input type is used.
Up Paddle - Select this if there is only an input for an upshift paddle
Down Paddle - Select this if there is only an input for a downshift paddle
Up and Down Paddles - Select this if there is a separate discrete input for each paddle.
Analogue Up and Down - Select this if there is a single variable resistance input for the up- and downshift paddles.

Connections

Discrete Inputs

Whenever the selected option is 'Up Paddle', 'Down Paddle' or 'Up and Down Paddles', you are using one or two inputs as on/off inputs.
Select any pin capable of reading state for the inputs. This can include analogue inputs, which will need you to set voltages for when it is considered on and off.

Recommended configuration
  1. Choose a pin with a pull-up (can be always on, or configurable).
  2. Enable the pull-up if there is an option to enable it.
  3. If the pin has an Edge Select option, choose Falling.
  4. If the pin has Switch On and Switch Off voltage settings, set the Switch On Voltage to 2V and the Switch Off Voltage to 3V.
  5. Wire the signal to the paddle contactor or equivalent.
  6. The other side of the paddle contactor should be connected to ground. Because this is a digital input with pull-up enabled, it can be either sensor ground or any other ground easily available.

Analogue Up and Down

When this option is selected, there will be just one Paddle input assignable. Select a pin capable of reading analogue voltages.
There must be at least 3 possible voltages. Voltage A when neither paddle is pressed, Voltage B when up paddle is pressed and Voltage B when the down paddle is pressed.  The ideal setup reads as neither paddle pressed if there's a wiring failure.
