Reverse Switch

Reverse Switch

The reverse switch is used to determine when the vehicle is in reverse gear.

Options

Reverse Switch Input Mode - Select an appropriate input to use for the Reverse Switch Input. Select from either a digital switched input, or vehicle CAN input.

Connections

This node allows you to assign the input for the Reverse Switch. If Input Mode is set to Digital - Switched, any available AVI or SPI may be used.

AVI
Switch On Voltage - The voltage either above or below where the switch is considered to be ON. When selecting an appropriate value some consideration should be given to allow for voltage fluctuations.
Switch Off Voltage - The voltage either above or below where the switch is considered to be OFF. When selecting an appropriate value some consideration should be given to allow for voltage fluctuations. Eg. if the switch is at 5V when it is Off and is grounded to 0V when the switch is On, you would set the On voltage to 1.0V and the Off Voltage to 4.0V.
SPI
Edge Select - Falling is used when the input is grounded when the switch is activated. Rising is used when the input is supplied voltage when the switch is activated.
Sensor Type - It is recommended to set this to Hall Effect for switch inputs
Pull Up - Enables a pull up if required.

Arming Voltage

The Arming Voltage table will be enabled if the input is an SPI, and the Signal Type is Reluctor.

This table is used to set the voltage threshold at which the ECU will start listening for the activation edge on the input signal.

Glitch Filter

The Glitch Filter table will be enabled if the input is an SPI.

This table sets the amount of time in microseconds that the signal pulse must remain in a transitioned state in order for the signal to be accepted as valid.
Any pulse shorter than this time will be considered a glitch on the signal and rejected by the ECU.
