RPM Limiter

RPM Limiter

The RPM Limiter is used to prevent engine damage by shutting down injection or ignition outputs at a set engine speed.

RPM Limiter Tab

Cut Method

Injection

Injector outputs will be disabled to limit the engine speed.

Ignition

Ignition outputs will be disabled to limit engine speed.

Cut Type

Select how the RPM Limiter is to be applied.

Hard Cut

All fuel or ignition outputs will use normal operation below the End RPM, and will disable above the End RPM.

Soft Cut

The Elite ECU will use an algorithm to randomly cut individual injection or ignition outputs to maintain engine speed at or below the End RPM.

Hysteresis

Available only when the Cut Type is set to Hard Cut. The engine speed must fall this amount below the End RPM before injection or ignition is re-enabled.

RPM Limiting Function

If the ECU is currently enforcing an RPM limit, this shows which function is responsible.

RPM Limiting Method

If the ECU is currently enforcing an RPM limit, this shows what method is being used to limit the RPM. Otherwise displays None.

RPM Limiter Active

If the ECU is currently enforcing an RPM limit, this shows Active (value 1). Otherwise it shows Inactive.

Cut Percentage Function

If the ECU is currently enacting a cut percengage, this shows which function is responsible. Otherwise displays None.

Cut Percentage Method

If the ECU is currently enacting a cut percengage, this shows what method is being used to limit the RPM. Otherwise displays None.

Cut Percentage

The current cut percentage being output. Usually 0%

If RPM Limiting Function is not None, it displays RPM Limiting Method. Otherwise, if Cut Percentage Function is not None, it displays Cut Percentage Method Otherwise displays None.

Engine Limiter Active

If RPM Limiter Active, displays RPM limit Otherwise, if Cut Percentage is greater than 0, displays % Cut Otherwise displays None.
