Shift to First
This node is only available if Shift to First Enable is on in the Transmission Control function.
A car where the ECU only controls up-shifts in a sequential transmission will often use this in drag race scenarios. It should be configured so that the ECU will think it's in 1st gear when the driver uses a mechanism to put it into 1st gear. It's ok for one to happen before the other.
A car where the ECU is configured so auto shifts only shift up in normal situations will use this to go back to first gear when appropriate (e.g. when stationary).
Because conditions for this could vary significantly between vehicles, a generic triplet of conditions are used to provide sufficient flexibility.
Because this typically happens when the vehicle is stationary, care must be taken in vehicles with clutches to ensure the clutch is disengaged by the driver.
Note that if Shift To First is enabled, then it has second highest priority when determining whether to shift gears. Spool-up Gear has highest priority (if enabled), then Shift To First, then paddles, then Auto-shift.
Number of Conditions - Selects the number of channels, up to 3, that will be used as conditions to shift to first gear even when normal auto shift points don't cause a shift to first gear.
Select - Select the ECU channel to be used.
Maths - A selection of Equal To, Not Equal To, Greater Than, Less Than, Greater Than Or Equal To, Less Than Or Equal To that is to be used.
Value - The value the maths must meet to enable the condition.
Combiner - Allows conditions to be combined so that multiple conditions must be met to activate a shift to first.
