Haltech does not sell this part.  For this guide it will be referred to as the Audi Coil.

The Audi ignition coil is a high output inductive coil with an internal igniter module designed to be installed directly on top of the spark plug.  These were found on many of the VAG engines, and are commonly used in the aftermarket for coil conversions due to their high output and coil-on-plug design.  They are available in different length tubes.

NOTES

12V Power Supply

The Audi coil can draw near to 10A.  If high rpm and high power is being used, together with conventional 30A Relays to provide power, it may be necessary to have a separate fuse and relay for every pair of coils.  This is rare but it is possible.

If the wiring is also not cable of supplying the current required it can also limit the spark output.
