How to configure a Link G4 CAN-enabled ECU to work with a Haltech display dash

How to configure a Fueltech FT-Series ECU to work with a Haltech display dash

If your Haltech dash display is using or has been updated to use the NSP software, you will first need to set it up to communicate with a Fueltech FT-Series ECU, similar to the example shown in the "Third-party ECU CAN" section of this article: Sourcing data for dashes in NSP.

You will also need to ensure that your Haltech display dash is correctly wired to an appropriate switched +12V power and ground source, and that the dash's CAN High and CAN Low pins are connected to your Fueltech ECU’s CAN B High and CAN B Low pins. Optionally, you can also use these CAN adapter looms:

  1. HT-130046 - This Haltech CAN adapter loom is available as an optional part that can be purchased to allow direct pinning of the CAN High (White) and CAN Low (Blue) wires into the FuelTech ECU's CAN B Port High and Low connections on the ECU connector. Red and black flying lead wires are provided to supply switched +12V and ground, respectively.

FT Manager software setup
  1. Go online with your Fueltech ECU from within the FT Manager software.
  2. Once online with your ECU, go to the ‘Sensors and Calibrations’, and choose ‘CAN communication'.
  3. Below are the settings for reference, all default EXCEPT 'Send fixed data packet,' which must be enabled before the 'Simplified CAN data' will be transmitted from the ECU to the dash.

The CAN Bus data address are also shown below for reference:
