Lock Duty Cycle

Torque Converter Lock Duty Cycle Table

This is the duty cycle use while the ECU is commanding to lock the torque converter.
It is most common to gradually feed in the pressure to the torque converter lock up solenoid in a way which results in gradual engagement. Some workshop manuals for transmissions have recommended lock-up curves. It is recommended to Import a Transmission Base Map provided by Haltech as a starting point.
The example above uses 0% duty initially to allow full flow of fluid into the lock-up actuator, in order rapidly get to the clutch bite point, then increases the duty cycle to decrease the pressure as the clutch beings to grab. It ends on a very low duty cycle to maintain full clutch engagement with minimal slippage.
